Privacy and community rules
Faculty Search Status is a not-for-profit project operated by Yiwen Song. We never ask for money. Any message claiming to be from us that asks you to send money or personal information is a scam. Community reports are unverified, and we cannot guarantee their accuracy.
Browsing and sign-in
You can browse public listings without an account. Auth0 handles Google sign-in, email/password registration, email verification and password recovery. The website uses a verified sign-in and a pseudonymous identifier for your account. The map shows how many verified site accounts and published reports there are. Each account counts once across sign-ins and is removed from the total when you delete your site data. Your password stays with the sign-in provider. The website does not read your inbox.
What is private and what is public
Your followed jobs and assistant connections are private to your account. Missing-position requests are visible to you and authorized moderators. Once approved, the position appears publicly without identifying the requester.
Reports contain a position, milestone, event date and date precision. Submitting publishes the report immediately as unverified. Your account identifier stays private. Public position pages and their published milestones can appear in search results and AI answers. External tracker updates link to their publisher and do not identify candidates or a reporting website account. Search services may retain an older copy after a report is withdrawn. You can withdraw a report, and moderators can hide flagged reports. A small search or exact date can still identify someone. Avoid names, private correspondence, compensation and other personal details. An application deadline does not establish that a search is filled.
Optional emails and AI connections
If you enable report emails, we store your verified address and consent time. Cloudflare delivers alerts for published reports matching your followed jobs. Unsubscribing removes the active subscription and queued alerts. Your identity provider manages its own verification and password-reset messages.
You choose each assistant’s permissions. For a followed job, an assistant with your explicit permission can publish an unverified interview or offer immediately. You can review or revoke access in AI connections. The assistant operates under its own provider’s privacy practices.
Account deletion and retention
Use Your account on the homepage to withdraw a report or delete your website account data. Deletion removes your reports, flags, private pins, applied jobs, missing-position requests and email subscription, and revokes sessions and assistant connections. Public university listings and your identity-provider account are retained separately. Temporary submission-limit counters expire separately. Cloudflare recovery history and provider logs have their own retention periods.
